Egg Price Outlook India: September 2026
Egg prices in India corrected sharply between July and September 2026. Our outlook looks at the weather, laying efficiency and export demand that will shape prices into the October–December quarter and 2027.
A warmer year could squeeze laying efficiency
Egg prices corrected about 18% between July and September 2026 on festive-season fasting and cooler weather. Mean temperatures have run above 2025 under El Niño conditions, and a warmer-than-normal October–December is forecast. Heat can reduce laying efficiency and tighten supply.
Exports slow after a strong start
Egg exports recovered from their March low but eased through the summer. July 2026 exports were 105 million eggs, down 8% from June and 37% from July 2025. January–July exports reached 1,024 million, 2.5% below 2025, as Middle East tensions and high prices dampened buying.
Weaker Gulf buying weighs on demand
The UAE remains India's largest egg buyer, at 581 million eggs in January–July 2026 against 593 million a year earlier. Oman buying fell 23%, while smaller markets such as the Maldives grew.
