International commodity news:

Soy complex and corn futures closed lower Friday and sharply lower for the week as beneficial rains fell in the dry growing areas of Brazil, the world’s largest soybean and corn exporter. US winter wheat futures were higher in technical trading and follow-through buying on gains made in Thursday’s session.

Indian Commodity news:

A. The total area under rabi crops is slightly higher (1%) than the normal acreage but still marginally lower (1%) than the previous year. However, the gap between this year and the previous year's sowing has reduced.

B. Wheat Acreage: Wheat sowing, which had shown a 5% decline until December 1, has now nearly reached the level of the previous year. Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have shown increased area coverage for wheat.

C. Oilseeds: Mustard sowing has surpassed normal acreage and increased by 2% compared to the previous year. Overall rabi oilseeds acreage has slightly increased from the year-ago period. However, groundnut area is down by 19%.
